Exercise the Right to Read

Join us this fall and run/read a marathon!  Stop by the library and pick up a mileage form.  Each day you run and/or read to earn your miles.  Get an adult to sign off on each mile.  At the end of the quarter there will be drawings for prizes.  You can also add your coins to the coin jar in the library to help raise funds for First Book, and for the American Cancer Society.  For each penny earned your librarian and principal will walk a foot.  Tigris will have their own jars for collecting coins, and their teachers Ms. Heinle and Mr. J will be walking those miles!

School is up and running!  The library was busy last week with orientation and lots and lots of books being checked out.  All 7th graders and many of the 8th graders came in for an introduction to the library.  Things are a bit quieter this week with RTI Testing in the library lab, but we're still open for one of the lunches each day.  You're also still welcome to come in before school to check out a book.

It's a new year and the library is up and running.  7th and 8th graders are getting reintroduced to us, and students are beginning to come in on passes to check out books.  We are anticipating an awesome year here at Hanshew!
